This is one of the scenarios thatย Deloitte NL recently laid out in their ๐—™๐˜‚๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜„๐˜€ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜ (link to full report here).

They described four scenario:
1. ๐— ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐˜€: with low trust/ diverse news outlets and less dominated by tech platforms.
2. ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ก๐—ฒ๐˜„๐˜€ ๐—จ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ถ๐—ฎ; with many trusted and diverse news outlet and now dominance of the tech platforms

I’d say we likely are more shifting towards Scenario 3 and 4; the latter a smoke and mirror charade that the likes of Zuckerberg, Musk and Thiel would like to make you believe is a paradise.

To make this happen, we have to create Scenario 1 first. I lobby the concept of digital tribes and communities since some time. A diverse and well-informed public will eventually come to realise that we are better off if we nudge the news environment a bit more towards the Utopia scenario.
