This is one of the scenarios that Deloitte NL recently laid out in their ?????? ?? ???? ?????? (link to full report here).
They described four scenario:
1. ???????????????? ??????: with low trust/ diverse news outlets and less dominated by tech platforms.
2. ??? ???? ??????; with many trusted and diverse news outlet and now dominance of the tech platforms
3. ?????????? ???? ?????????: highly trusted, but few news outlets, dominated by tech platforms
4. ????????? ?? ?????: low trust/ few news outlets, dominated by tech platforms.

I’d say we likely are more shifting towards Scenario 3 and 4; the latter a smoke and mirror charade that the likes of Zuckerberg, Musk and Thiel would like to make you believe is a paradise.

To make this happen, we have to create Scenario 1 first. I lobby the concept of digital tribes and communities since some time. A diverse and well-informed public will eventually come to realise that we are better off if we nudge the news environment a bit more towards the Utopia scenario.

I was always a news junkie myself and I often ‘force’ myself to visit news outlet that do reflect a different political position than myself – it does educate indeed. Access to a diverse, plural, independent news media is utterly important; independent of your political leaning.
